In this photo you can see some of the personalised locks which tell their own story, such as one lock which was used for a proposal, now found on the Bridge of Love, otherwise known by the name Pont des Arts.

The Conciergerie palace turned prison where Marie Antoinette was held captive

La Conciergerie was the first royal palace that was built in Paris, and is found on the Ile de la Cite island, which was originally called Palais de la Cite, which eventually became a prison. The name Conciergerie was from the official who was appointed from the king to oversee various prison records and policing.
